October 18 - Week Update

Hudson’s had a pretty good week. The “treatment” part of this round of chemo/stem cell transplant is done - we are still just in the waiting phase right now. His ANC is currently still falling - he has yet to hit 0. Once he bottoms out, then we’ll wait for the climb. He got packed RBCs yesterday and will likely get platelets tomorrow. He continues to struggle with nausea and lack of appetite, occasional vomiting, and he is on antiemetics around the clock. He often gags even at the mention of food. He continues to slowly lose weight. They are monitoring this closely. In spite of all this, he has spurts of good energy and playtime. Today he spent all afternoon on dinosaur hunts in the hallway. 🦖

On Wednesday after work, Matt drove up to STL, and after he arrived, I headed south to spend the rest of the week and weekend with the girls. Hudson had a sweet little happy dance when daddy arrived - it was too cute! It’s SO good to spend time with the girls, and I know Matt is thankful for time with Hudson, but it’s hard and strange to be operating as separate units right now. Hospital front and home front. Each comes with very different challenges and hardships, but we’re always missing the others.

Thank you for your prayers for Hudson! Please continue to pray for him - for improved appetite and no more weight loss, for good rest and good play, for fast white count recovery, for healing. We are so grateful for the support you give us.

Jesus, we trust in you! 💛
