July 25 - Hudson’s Surgery
8:30am
Hudson is with his surgical team. We expect it to be several hours before he makes it to recovery. I know they are going to take the best care of him, along with his guardian angel. Please pray for our Hudson James, and pray for the intercession of St. James, Hudson’s patron saint, on his feast day today.
We received encouraging news last night - the CT of his chest, abdomen, and pelvis was clear! Thank you, Jesus!
Jesus, we trust in you!

Just spoke with the neurosurgeon. Hudson did well! She was able to resect the whole tumor from what she could tell, Hudson will have another MRI tomorrow to check. She used ultrasound in the surgery and felt it was all out. They did give him blood and blood products due to levels dropping some. May take 1-3 weeks for pathology report. They are going to extubate him and bring him back up to the PICU. We are waiting for him here. Please please continue to pray for him, specifically for no pain, quick recovery, and a favorable pathology report. Thank you all!

We made it through the day! Hudson is doing very well, all things considered. When he woke up in the PICU he was a little groggy at first and then was immediately trying to stand to come to me We had some good snuggles this afternoon! He has been talking, he ate lots of snacks (starting with ice cream, of course) and fed himself dinner, and has been drinking well from his cup. He still has lots of lines and tubes so hasn’t been able to walk around yet. I’m thinking we may see therapies tomorrow. He has some swelling around his ear/side of his face but they feel that is normal considering what he went through today. He does seem to have some pain, but it is staying fairly well controlled so far. He’s our tough little cookie!
Hudson will have another MRI at 0730. Please continue to pray for Hudson - for a restful night, for a clear MRI tomorrow with no more evidence of tumor, for a quick recovery, and for a good pathology report. We cannot thank you enough for your love and prayers.
Jesus, we trust in you!
