January 6 - Round Update

Nap time update!

Today is day +6 (day +0 being transplant day) and we’ve finally bottomed out with an ANC of 0. Up until this morning, Hudson’s nausea had been well controlled for several days, and he had been tolerating his full feed goal through the NG. We’re slowly working back up after some vomiting this morning. He’s had lots of energy the past couple of days (even refused to nap on Saturday - probably too much excitement with daddy visiting!) and has been enjoying lots of walks and scavenger hunts in the hallways with mom and with his friends. We enjoyed watching the snow fall yesterday.

It’s been so wonderful to get to know some of the other families here with us throughout this journey, and it’s too sweet to see the big kids take Hudson under their wing and play with him. Hudson likes to check on his friends to see if they want to come play. I think they all motivate each other to stay moving. 🥰

Hudson’s been enjoying coloring, blocks, and stickers, and lately we’ve been watching Encanto and Monsters University. He’s also showing interest in the medical profession - we think he’ll make a great doctor or nurse someday! ☺️ He loves taking care of his baby and making sure to give her “tubie” good “drinks.” We love that child life has babies and toys to help normalize some of what he’s going through.

So now we just wait for counts to climb! We’d appreciate continued prayers for control of his nausea and other side effects, good rest and play, and an uneventful rest of this hospital stay. Also would appreciate prayers for safe travel for Matt and I, as we are currently still planning to switch tomorrow, as long as road conditions allow. We hope everyone is warm and safe in this winter weather! 💛🙏🏻
