December 31 - New Year’s Update
New year, new stem cells!
Hudson’s New Year’s Eve party consisted of his third and final stem cell transplant this afternoon! He was so excited that he slept right through it. 🤣
He’s been doing pretty well so far this round. He got his chemo on Saturday and Sunday and had a rest day yesterday. He’s been dealing with nausea, some vomiting, and diarrhea, which has caused his bottom to get raw despite our best efforts. But he’s still mostly happy and playful, and enjoys going in the hall to “see the people” and deliver ice cream, search for dinosaurs, and ride up and down the hall in the stroller.
Now we wait - wait for counts to bottom out and then climb again. They are watching his kidney function closely. He’ll have his NG tube placed tomorrow to help with nutrition because of his nausea and lack of appetite.
Hudson and I were able to spend some time with a relic of the true cross this weekend, on loan from a priest friend of my dad’s from FOCUS. We continue to unite our suffering to the suffering of Jesus on the cross, and we ask Him to continue to help us carry this cross. We SO appreciate your prayers for Hudson and for all of us!
Jesus, we trust in you. 💛
