January 24 - Update from Home

Hudson Update!

Sorry it’s been a bit since I’ve posted - we’ve been busy enjoying our time at home and all together as a family! What a gift! 💛

To recap, when we got home on Wednesday last week, his ANC was 1200. That same Friday, we went back to clinic and his ANC was 1400, but by the time we got outpatient labs at SF on Monday, it had fallen to 560. Today we went back to clinic, and his ANC was 690. His hemoglobin and platelets are still low but above his threshold for needing transfusion, so he hasn’t needed any blood product since leaving the hospital. Since his ANC hasn’t fallen below 500, we have not started any neupogen shots, and we’ll recheck labs on Monday again. We are hoping to see better recovery of his bone marrow soon!

Hudson’s had great energy and his appetite continues to progress, too. Finding the right food that he’ll actually eat at any given meal can still be somewhat challenging, but his weight has been stable and was up a bit today. He’s been so happy to be home and play with his sisters - they have so much fun together!

We’re so grateful to God that Hudson is doing so well and that we have this break at home before radiation. God has been so good to us throughout this journey so far, and He’s using you all. Thank you for being instruments of His grace to us! Over the next couple of weeks, we would appreciate prayers for good recovery of Hudson’s bone marrow and blood counts, for him (and the rest of us!) to stay healthy in the midst of all the illness going around, for no evidence of disease on his upcoming MRI (2/13), and for complete and total healing from this cancer.

Jesus, we trust in you! 💛
