February 11 - Hudson Update
We’ve been loving our time at home and were able to skip a trip to STL last week, as his labs on Monday of last week were all still trending the right way. In fact, the team felt we could go without labs later in the week, too, since his numbers were good. So we had a dressing and cap change at St. Francis on Friday, but otherwise, it’s been a pretty uneventful week medically. We’ll take it! 🙌🏻
We’re gearing up for a BIG day on Thursday. We’ll meet with Hudson’s neuro oncologist Thursday morning, followed by our first consult with radiation oncology, followed by a sedated MRI of his brain and spine. (Hudson’s last MRI was before he started the chemo/stem cell transplant rounds.) As if that’s not enough to cause anxiety, we’ve got winter weather heading towards St. Louis which could definitely impact our travel, and rescheduling the MRI would likely set us back several weeks. And since we’re not keen on giving this cancer any extra time to rebound, that isn’t really an option. So we need BIG prayers for safe travels, for rain instead of ice/snow, and MOST especially for clear scans with no evidence of disease! Also would appreciate prayers for more peace and trust and less worry - the fear and anxiety that comes with this day is real.
We’re so thankful for how awesome our little guy is doing and for the joy that he brings into our lives every single day. He is just the best! Thank you all for your continued prayers and support on this journey. It’s comforting to know so many people are praying for our mighty fighter. 💪🏻
Jesus, we trust in you! 💛
