This is the face of a little boy whose MRI shows no evidence of disease in his brain or spine!

We are so thankful to God for these amazing results and for the way that He continues to provide for us on this journey. Thank you all so much for your prayers and encouragement, especially the last couple of days. We are grateful to be entering the last leg of this treatment journey and remain hopeful that Hudsonβs upcoming radiation will seal the deal and keep this cancer from returning - forever.
We had a good initial consult with Hudsonβs radiation oncologist yesterday - Dr. Perkins and her team were great. She said that because of the size, location, and dose of proton beam radiation that Hudson will get, she is hopeful he will have little to no cognitive or neurological side effects. It was all very encouraging. Today, Hudson had his simulation or βdry runβ for radiation, where he was sedated and fit for the mask heβll wear during his radiation. He woke from sedation much better today (presumably because it was so short), which was definitely a relief. Hopefully heβll do well with the anesthesia going forward. Our tentative start date for radiation is 2/26, but weβll find out for sure next week.
While we are overjoyed at our news today, we are also acutely aware of the fragility of life, as weβre heartbroken to learn of the passing of another brain cancer warrior from our community. Please join us in praying for the repose of the soul of JJ and for peace and comfort for all of his family and friends. Although we did not know JJ, we know he made a powerful impact on all those around him. We pray that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
Jesus, we trust in you. π
