July 27 - Recovery Continues

After a more challenging night last night, we had a good day today. Last night Hudson had more pain and a couple episodes of vomiting, which was scary. Thankfully his neuro checks were all good, and once he had some extra pain meds and zofran, he was able to rest better.

Today, he’s been much more energetic. Pain has been controlled with Tylenol all day. He finished his post op steroids and was finally able to have a bowel movement. his MRI shows no clear evidence of residual tumor but does have some enhancements which they feel are related to normal post operative changes. The mild midline shift which was on his pre op MRI is improved. Hudson will have a follow up MRI in around 3 months, and yesterday’s MRI will serve as baseline.

We spent a total of almost 2 hours in the playroom today and lots of time walking around the hall! He had no interest in staying in his room today. Hudson’s energy was way up compared to yesterday, when he only lasted 20-25 minutes in the playroom.

We have so much gratitude for the good news we have received thus far, for the resilience of our sweet little boy, for the medical team that is caring for him, for our family caring for the girls while we are away, and for all those who are praying for us and holding us up through this. I know your prayers are working! Please continue to join us in prayer for our sweet Hudson James, for complete healing and no pain, for a good pathology report, and for us to be home as a family again soon.

Jesus, we trust in you!
