December 18 - Clinic Update

Hudson and I went to clinic today for his sedated auditory brain response test and a clinic visit. First for the amazing news - Hudson’s hearing is still completely normal and his test was “beautiful” according to the audiologist! Praise Jesus! 🙌🏻 They will continue to monitor his hearing as treatment continues, but we are so thankful that so far it has not been impacted by his chemo.

On Monday Hudson had outpatient labs, and his ANC was almost 30,000, so we stopped his neupogen shots. Today his ANC has fallen to 2,600. Again, the team does not seem super concerned about this. Today the NP explained that when the neupogen stimulates the bone marrow, all of the immature cells are released, too, which is why the ANC can escalate so quickly. Since Hudson is a patient with a solid tumor (as opposed to a blood cancer, for example) his bone marrow is very sensitive and responsive to the neupogen, which is why it seems like his ANC is on a crazy rollercoaster. They want to give him some time to see what his ANC does over the weekend, so we’ll have outpatient labs on Monday.

We are praying:

• For Hudson’s ANC to be >750 on Monday, which will give us the green light for admission on 12/27.

• For a negative pre-transplant respiratory panel on Monday, in order to avoid isolation and go into his chemo as healthy as possible.

• For good health for our family, so we can all be together during the Christmas holiday.

• In thanksgiving for protection over Hudson’s hearing thus far, and for continued protection.

We would so appreciate any prayers you could offer for these specific intentions! Thank you all so much. 💛
